Display seven temperatures and time of day. -55°C to 125°C with accuracy better than 1°C. Record maximums and minimums. Built-in time and date. Log date and time that maxima and minima occur. Application:
The Multi-Temperature Indicator is designed to display up to seven
temperatures.
The sensors can be up to ten metres from the indicator unit and are scanned sequentially.
Each sensor is read every scan even though only one temperature is displayed at a time.
The maximum and minimum temperatures are recorded for each sensor as well at the date and time at which they occurred.
The various temperatures are displayed by selecting the required temperature and pressing the MAX or MIN buttons.
The maximum and minimums are cleared by pressing both the MAX and MIN buttons simultaneously for more than two seconds.

  • The unit is power by two standard penlight cells and using alkaline cells a battery life in excess of a year can be expected. Low battery warning is given when the batteries are running low.
  • Connections for the temperature sensors are made using the terminals on the PC board.
  • The scan time can be set internally to be 8, 16, 32 or 64 seconds. The battery life will be reduced or extended accordingly.
  • The temperature measurement range is from -55°C to +125°C and the accuracy of the measurements are to within –0.5°C between 20°C and +125°C.
  • Both RS232 and RS485 interfaces are included which is internal to the unit and allows up to 32 Multi-Temperature Indicators to be connected to a PC or controller. All the temperature measurements, the maxima and minima and the times can be accessed and reset or changed using the interface. All the registers can be read and all but the current temperatures can be written to the times at which the maximum and minimum temperatures were measured are recorded with the year, month, day, hour and minute at which they occurred.
  • Two AA cells will give a life of a year or more depending upon the measurement update rate. Three ranges of auxiliary input power can be used: 3 VAC to 10 VAC, 10 VDC to 30 VDC and 4 VDC to 8 VDC. Jumpers on the PCB select the auxiliary power type.
  • A "battery low" indication is provided when the battery or supply voltage drops below the acceptable limit. The unit will still continue to operate for some time after this however.
  • Setting the date and time is done using the front panel buttons.
  • Time is displayed as xx:yy where xx=hours and yy=minutes. Since 24 hour display is not possible with this display, the (^) symbol is used as an AM/PM indicator. e.g. ^9:10 indicates 21:10.
  • The Multi-Temperature Indicator communicates using the Danntech Remote Magic Daughter Board Communications Protocol.
  • Three commands are supported - they are Read Configuration Data from Device, Read Data from Device and Write to Device. The device address is switch selectable from 0 to 31. The baud rates which are also switch selectable to be 2400, 9600, 19200 or 38400 bits per sec. Using a DIP switch the user can also select either RS232 or RS485 communications.
  • When a command is issued by the master, the Multi-Temperature Indicator replies replicating the command except the high bit of the command byte is set to 1. If data is required then the data is returned in the correct sequence. The checksum is recalculated before the reply is sent back.
  • Dimensions 135 x 80 x 170 mm (width x depth x height). Mass approximately 500 g.
