This DIN rail mount mains filter has been designed to protect mains powered equipment from voltage surges and spikes. A 2 amp slow blow fuse is used to isolate the equipment being protected if the input voltage exceeds 250 VAC (or 130 VAC) for a period of time. Faster transients are dissipated by a balanced filter which protects the load against the effects of mains borne noise such as switching spikes and other inductive or capacitive coupled noise. A green LED illuminates to show that power is present at the filter output. The LED will not illuminate if the fuse is blown.
