Description
The Pi & Modbus PSU & IO Interface (PMPII) has been designed to provide an Industrial Digital I/O Interface with either one or both processor types. The PMPII can be used with either the PIC processor with Modbus Interface or a Raspberry Pi, or both.
Specifications
Two variant available
- Mains Powered with Pi connected directly to Digital I/O and no PIC. 5 V @ 2 A and 24 V @ 125 mA supplies. Reduced Digital I/O for eight inputs and eight outputs.
- The Raspberry Pi only version has direct access to all the Digital I/Os and one isolated RS485 Interface and the 26 pin Expansion Header for General Use via RS232 and the I2C interfaces.
- A variation of this PIC Processor version could use the expansion headers to connect to isolated analogue modules which can be used for a variety of input types. These can be accessed using the Modbus interface.
- DC Powered with PIC and no Pi. Modbus interface for 16 digital inputs and 16 digital outputs. 5 V @ 1 A and no auxiliary supply.
- This version could be used as a simple Modbus Digital I/O interface with 16 Digital Inputs and 16 Digital Outputs.
- A variation of this PIC Processor version could use the expansion headers to connect to isolated analogue modules which can be used for a variety of input types. These can be accessed using the Modbus interface.
The PIC and Pi version can be used where the basic I/O and any other high speed functions, Modbus or other customsied functions are done using the PIC and higher level operations such as web page interface, data logging, GPRS link, WiFi, etc. are all done using the Pi. The Pi and the PIC can communicate via the I2C interface.
